We are hiring a Electronics Hardware Technician
The Electronics Hardware Technician is responsible for the assembly testing troubleshooting and repair of electronic hardware and systems. This role supports product development and production by working with circuit boards electronic components and test equipment to ensure products meet quality and functional standards. The technician collaborates with engineers to diagnose faults implement improvements and maintain the reliability of electronic hardware throughout the product lifecycle. The technician is a key link between engineering production and quality assurance in delivering well-built tested and robust electronic hardware to market.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that products are built to specification reliable and ready to market. Through hands-on involvement in hardware assembly testing and fault diagnostics the technician helps reduce development cycles improve product quality and support seamless transition from prototype to production.
- Assemble and test electronic products and sub-assemblies according to technical drawings specifications and work instructions.
- Conduct functional and quality tests on circuit boards and final products using test equipment such as multimeters oscilloscopes signal generators specialised test jigs.
- Identify troubleshoot and repair faults in electronic circuits and assemblies at both component and system levels.
- Document test results repairs and modifications accurately and clearly.
- Work closely with engineers to provide feedback and assist in product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform quality control inspections and assist with compliance to internal and external standards based on ISO quality systems.
- Maintain tools test equipment and a clean organized workspace.
- Support the development of test procedures and test jigs as needed.
- Assist customer services when necessary to book in hardware repairs analyse & create reports for customers based on findings with the hardware.
Qualifications and Experience
Requirements
- National Diploma Technical Certificate or equivalent in Electronics or a related field.
- Proven experience in electronic assembly testing and fault diagnosis
Skills & Competencies
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of electronic components schematics and PCB layouts.
- Proficiency with test and measurement equipment.
- Ability to solder and rework components including surface-mount devices (SMD).
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Strong in documentation and ability to create high-level technical reports.
