The Landscape Technician is responsible for performing general landscaping & maintenance tasks on properties and equipment managed by the Tennessee Aquarium.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains the cleanliness of the grounds parking lot walkways water features and buildings on the Aquarium Plaza
- Grounds maintenance: mowing weed eating trash pickup pressure washing landscaping and irrigation systems maintenance
- Operates and maintains the three water features on the Aquarium Plaza which will include pumps filters and water quality management
- Facility and grounds lighting; re-lamping and minor repairs
- Performs general maintenance tasks on facility finishes such as handrails door hardware adjustments and painting
- Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on air handling equipment; change filters clean coils fan housing fins & unit interior and belt replacement
- Performs work in a manner that fosters the Aquariums mission and reflects its core values and service standards
Key Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record preferred
- Certified Pool Operator Certification preferred
- Self-motivated with good communication skills with the ability to interact with co-workers and guests in a way that promotes our core values and service standards
- Mechanical aptitude for facility and grounds maintenance
- Enjoy working outside
- Quick learner with attention to detail.
- Ability to work alone while staying on task
- Previous grounds maintenance facility maintenance or construction experience preferred
- Basic computer skills: accessing email and internet preferred
Full-time hourly (Starting at $17/hour); must be able to work some weekends and holidays as needed.
