Job Description
Key Performance Outputs
- Sea & Air supply requirements planning
- Rates negotiations
- Onboard new service providers
- Pre-season meetings with service providers commercial finance and relevant teams
- Seasonal forecast to service providers
- Update and/or create new SOP s
- Formalize allocations into loading instructions.
- Communicate loading instructions with load points.
- Book containers with Freight Forwarder.
- Checked and forwarded Q67 to relevant parties.
- Deal with all operational issues that may arise during loading of containers.
- Arrange transport from depots and load outs.
- Communicate loading instructions with load points.
- Book containers.
- Compile Seafreight Schedule with vessel option.
- Forwarded details for Shipping Instruction (SI) submission to Freight Forwarder.
- Captured loading notifications from dispatch documents.
- Capture all details on Seafreight Log.
- Forwarded Loading Notifications to Freight Forwarders.
- Request and maintain Block Bookings
- Managing additional space requirements
- Staying on top of airline schedule and routing changes
- Generate addendums on system and sent out to load points for PPECB stamp to be forwarded to Freight Forwarders.
- Generate and forwarded Custom Invoices to Freight Forwarders.
- Generate File Fronts before any allocations are made.
- Execute final loading notifications and forwarded to clients and clearing agents.
- Monitor vessel ETD ATD ETA and ATA s and followed-up previous week s shipments ATD and ATA.
- Create purchase orders for all shipment costs
- Creditor invoice checking sign off resolving discrepancies
- Benchmarking service providers on service received
- Post season meeting to review performance areas of improvement and general feedback
- Shipment processing stand-in on alternate weekends and when necessary
- Monitoring the status of shipments and advising if there are any delays/offloadS
- Import operations
- Investigate and identify best route to market for new routes regions
- Claims management
- Ensure all service providers meet compliance requirements IFS etc.
- Assist with budget standards and budget preparations
- Continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
Qualifications / Experience
- Senior certificate / grade 12 / matric.
- Suitable tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 5 years experience in Sea & Air freight with experience in the Perishable industry.
- Including exposure to rate negotiations order management advanced knowledge or routes and schedules.
- Minimum 2 years management experience
Functional / Technical
- Excellent Computer literacy: MS Office (Outlook Excel Word PowerPoint)
- Systems knowledge (Netsuite etc.)
- Knowledge of sea and air freight operations costs supply chain challenges
- Well informed on industry developments
