Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and supervise a team of technicians and artisans within the workshop.
Oversee the maintenance repair and servicing of all plant machinery and equipment.
Ensure minimal downtime by implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules.
Manage workshop budgets inventory and procurement of tools parts and consumables.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to support manufacturing goals.
Enforce health and safety standards and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Train and develop team members to build a strong efficient and motivated workforce.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities equipment history and safety inspections
Requirements :
Matric (Grade 12) and a relevant technical qualification (e.g. Mechanical/Electrical Trade Test or Diploma).
Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment (food industry preferred).
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent knowledge of workshop operations equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to the manufacturing industry.
