The opportunity
Nile is an innovative e-commerce platform on a mission to transform the agricultural landscape in Africa. We aim to improve the income of producers while making agricultural products more accessible to consumers. Our team combines experience from leading global companies and we are looking for a Commercial Manager to spearhead initiatives within our fast-growing Inputs division.
Your Role
As the Commercial Manager for Agri Inputs you will focus on building and managing relationships with suppliers ensuring a reliable supply chain and driving sales through successful marketing initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and executing strategies to expand our agri-input product offerings and market presence.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders in the agricultural inputs sector.
- Working with Niles tech team to design and launch innovative digital functionality for our online marketplace.
- Overseeing the procurement process to secure competitive pricing and quality products for our customers.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to promote product offerings and drive sales growth.
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and challenges.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Significant experience in commercial management especially within the agricultural inputs sector.
- Preference from candidates with managerial-level experience at inputs suppliers and cooperatives.
- A Bachelors Degree in Agriculture Business or a related field.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and successful product launches.
- Excellent analytical skills and financial acumen.
- Adept at adapting to fast-paced and rapidly changing environments.
