CFO

Brief Description:
An established financial services group is seeking a strategic and hands-on Group Chief Financial Officer to lead its financial function. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity across all entities ensuring compliance with statutory regulations strengthening governance and supporting strategic growth. This is a senior leadership role requiring a seasoned finance professional with a sharp focus on excellence control and innovation.

Job Description:
Financial Management and Internal Controls
Oversee group-wide finance operations ensuring efficiency accuracy and compliance
Maintain consistent financial record-keeping and reporting standards
Implement monitor and enhance internal financial controls and processes
Manage group cash flow asset control and compliance with funding covenants

Financial Reporting
Ensure timely and accurate monthly management accounts and performance reports
Prepare consolidated financial results investor updates and annual financial statements
Lead engagement with auditors and ensure timely resolution of audit findings
Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure statutory compliance (Companies Act IFRS etc.)

Governance
Serve as a director on multiple entities within the group
Support effective governance aligned with King IV principles
Coordinate board and Exco meetings and provide strategic financial insights

Budget Management
Oversee the full budgeting cycle across all divisions and shared services
Monitor expenses to ensure alignment with approved budgets

Strategic Projects and Acquisitions
Lead financial due diligence on acquisitions and support execution of growth strategies
Partner with the CEO/COO on strategic initiatives and transformation efforts (e.g. BBBEE)

Leadership and Team Development
Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team
Ensure resource adequacy and capability-building across all finance units

Experience & Skills:
15 years post-articles experience preferably in financial services or advisory
Strong background in financial reporting compliance budgeting and audits
Demonstrated leadership and team development skills
Solid understanding of financial systems and process automation
Proactive detail-oriented and solution-driven approach

Qualifications:
BCom Honours in Accounting
Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation
