Introduction
Electrical & Instrumentation Draughtsman
Location - Johannesburg (Office-Based)
Mining & Mineral Processing Industry
Full-Time Senior Draughting Role
Join a reputable engineering team delivering large-scale projects in the mining and mineral processing sector. Were looking for a skilled and dependable Electrical & Instrumentation Draughtsman who thrives in fast-paced high-precision environments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Your Role
Youll support the engineering function by producing accurate high-quality E&I drawings from concept to construction stage. This is not an entry-level role were seeking someone who can contribute independently manage multiple project deliverables and ensure alignment with both internal and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and revise:
- Electrical schematics SLDs panel and block diagrams
- Cable racking and routing layouts (2D essential; 3D advantageous)
- Instrumentation and field equipment layouts
- Piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
- Create construction-ready and as-built drawings
- Interpret markups and collaborate with engineering teams
- Uphold drawing standards and conduct quality checks
- Work across multiple projects in the mining and process plant environment
What Youll Need
- N4/N5 Draughting qualification (or equivalent)
- 68 years E&I draughting experience in mining or industrial infrastructure
- Strong AutoCAD skills (2D required; 3D/AutoCAD Electrical a plus)
- Understanding of engineering standards symbols and drafting procedures
- Able to manage your own workload communicate effectively and deliver to tight deadlines
