A highly strategic leadership opportunity is available for an experienced General Manager: Retail and Production to spearhead the national sales distribution production and operational management of digital broadcasting hardware. This role is responsible for achieving sales targets for set-top boxes (STBs) through a team of Area Sales Managers while ensuring efficient product supply strong stakeholder engagement and operational excellence across multiple retail and trade environments.
Develop and implement a robust retail and marketing strategy to grow sales and market penetration.
Establish ongoing business plans aligned with short medium and long-term company goals.
Manage expenditure and stock control within approved budgets.
Lead and evolve the national distribution model to ensure efficient timely product supply.
Oversee manufacturer and distributor performance to align stock holdings with sales cycles.
Ensure product pricing availability and quality compliance align with market expectations.
Build and maintain relationships with distributors retailers wholesalers and trade organisations.
Ensure coordinated sales installation and distribution activities across the business.
Support and guide Area Sales Managers in account development and market expansion.
Lead and develop national sales merchandising and account teams.
Oversee team performance training and accountability structures.
Create a results-driven culture with clear KPIs and developmental support.
Deliver weekly and monthly reporting on sales performance market feedback and installation data.
Report on supply chain status marketing activities and manufacturer output.
Provide data-driven insights to executive stakeholders to support strategic planning.
Perform accurate daily weekly and monthly reporting on stock management
Deliver national and regional sales volumes in line with targets
Address supply chain and distribution issues promptly and effectively
Execute regional generic and account-specific marketing plans within allocated co-op budgets
Coordinate and lead regular team meetings to ensure operational alignment and accurate reporting
Track and manage daily sales of new box packages across all regional accounts
Drive consistent sales growth in assigned accounts and areas
Build and maintain strong client relationships ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
Ensure compliance with approved budgets and minimise operational waste
National Senior Certificate (NQF Level 4) Essential
Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7) in Sales Marketing or Business Management Essential
5 years operational experience in Sales Marketing and Procurement Essential
3 years in a management role within Digital Television Broadcasting / Media / Entertainment Essential
Strong leadership and stakeholder management
Expertise in retail distribution sales strategy and merchandising
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Conflict resolution planning and problem-solving level of accountability team collaboration and resilience
Valid Drivers License (Code EB)
Advanced English proficiency
Ability to travel as needed
