Job Description
We are seeking an Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper for a contract role based in East London Eastern Cape
Duties & Responsibilities
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- BCom degree accounting diploma or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of three years commercial accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and statutory reporting requirements
- Strong communication skills
The successful applicant would be responsible for but not limited to:
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts trial balances and bank reconciliations
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and daily data captures
- Develop cash flow forecasts and analyse revenue and expenditure trends
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure timely submission of statutory returns
- Produce and manage annual budgets forecasts and variance analyses
- Monitor payroll processes prepare wage summaries and related reports
- Enforce compliance with GAAP internal policies and high standards of financial hygiene
- Provide ad hoc financial support and liaise with management and other departments
