Data Scientist / Algorithm Developer
Location & Salary

Location: Cape Town

Work Model: Flexible/Hybrid

Salary Range: R1.3 mil - R1.4 mil PA
Key Responsibilities
-
Design and evaluate signal processing algorithms
-
Develop and document data science architecture
-
Independently build algorithms under senior guidance
-
Collaborate with sports scientists to gather quality sensor data
-
Create predictive ML models for team strategy insights
Required Skills & Experience
-
BEng/BSc in Electronic Engineering Computer Science or Mathematics
-
Knowledge of signal processing (e.g. filtering time-frequency transforms)
-
Understanding of performance metrics (e.g. ROC curves)
-
Familiarity with ML models: regression decision trees SVMs neural networks
-
Experience with tools like Python MATLAB Octave or R
Personal Traits

Technically curious with strong time management

Hands-on and detail-oriented

Excellent communication skills

Strong interest in sports trends and analytics
