Introduction
**PLEASE NOTE: This is a 12 months contract position - hybrid
Our clients in the banking sector based in Sandton is urgently looking for a Technical Business Analyst to support the Cross Asset Market Making Re-platform Project within the global markets tech team.
They are looking for someone with strong analytical and technical skills with experience in trading systems FIX protocol and market data flows.
This role involves requirements elicitation process mapping stakeholder engagement and translating business needs into actionable technical specifications.
You will be working closely with developers testers architects and business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of platform enhancements across asset classes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders
- Document functional and non-functional requirements for:
- FIX Engine integration
- Market data hub and adapters
- Pre-trade risk controls
- JSE Gateway and hosting architecture
- Market Makers
- Map current and future state business processes
- Perform gap analysis and impact assessments
- Collaborate with Developers Test Analysts Architects and Vendors
- Support solution design and validate technical feasibility
- Assist in build vs. buy evaluations and vendor coordination
- Contribute to test planning and UAT support
- Maintain traceability matrices and ensure alignment with project scope
- Stay current with trading technology trends and regulatory requirements

Desired Experience & Qualification
In order to be considered the following is required:
- Minimum qualification: Tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in IT Finance or related field
- Preferred qualification: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Financial Engineering
- 5 years in business analysis roles within financial services or trading environments
- Experience with low-latency trading systems and FIX protocol
- Familiarity with market-making platforms and financial instruments
- Exposure to tools like JIRA Confluence Visio and SQL
- Understanding of network architecture and data flow in trading environments
- Business process modelling and documentation
- Technical analysis and specification writing
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication
- High aptitude for learning in complex environments
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Proficiency in English for documentation and collaboration
Package & Remuneration
R800 - R1000 (hourly)
