Job Description

Hire Resolves Client a reputable mining company in Mpumalanga is currently looking for an experienced Underground Safety Officer to join their mining team.

:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.

  • A National Diploma in Safety or Engineering Management would be an advantage.

  • Good understanding of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and other relevant legislation.

  • At least 3 years of experience working as an underground Safety Officer in the mining sector.

  • Blasting Certificate for Metalliferous Mining.

  • COMSOC 1 and 2 qualifications.

  • SAMTRAC certification.

  • Qualification in accident investigation.

  • Experience working in both vertical and incline shaft environments.

  • Knowledge of risk management related to Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) and Rail Bound Equipment (RBE).

  • Practical experience in applying risk assessment techniques.

  • Proven experience in conducting root cause analysis for accident and incident investigations.

  • Valid drivers license.

  • Computer literate.

  • Valid certificate of physical fitness.
