Location: Chagrin Falls OH
We are seeking an experienced Safety Manager to lead and promote a strong safety culture across multiple heavy civil construction projects in the Chagrin Falls OH area. The ideal candidate will bring proven expertise in safety management within the construction industry and will be responsible for implementing monitoring and continuously improving health and safety programs to ensure the well-being of all employees and compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop implement and oversee safety and health programs including accident prevention jobsite safety audits motor vehicle safety confined space entry and OSHA compliance.
Foster a proactive culture of safety through policy development training risk mitigation strategies and employee engagement initiatives.
Conduct regular jobsite inspections to identify hazards ensure compliance and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate incidents and accidents prepare detailed reports and oversee workers compensation claims in collaboration with HR and insurance partners.
Track maintain and report all OSHA and company safety compliance requirements.
Provide ongoing safety education training sessions and communication to employees and leadership teams.
Stay up to date on safety regulations industry standards and best practices ensuring the organization remains compliant and proactive.
Prepare and present reports on safety performance awareness and key statistics.
Regular travel to job sites as required.
Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety Environmental Health or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
Minimum 5 years experience as a Safety Manager in the construction industry preferably in heavy civil or related fields.
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management practices.
Completion of OSHA 30 Construction is required (OSHA 510 strongly preferred).
Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
Exceptional organizational analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with the capacity to influence and train diverse teams.
Deep understanding of safety laws regulations and risk assessment methods.
Proven ability to investigate incidents and implement prevention measures.
High attention to detail and strong observation skills.
Motivational leadership style with ability to drive engagement across teams.
Self-directed with visibility and active presence across multiple construction sites.
