A well-established AV Preeminent-rated Florida defense firm handles litigation and appeals in all Florida state and federal courts. With over 55 attorneys across 7 offices the firm serves clients statewide delivering exceptional legal services with the experience resources and credibility necessary to achieve successful results.
The firm is currently seeking a Legal Assistant with at least 3 years of prior Insurance Defense experience preferably in medical malpractice and healthcare defense.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintain attorney calendars ensuring deadlines and events are tracked and met. Schedule appointments depositions meetings inspections and hearings for assigned attorneys.
Assist attorneys in drafting proofreading redacting and editing documents for correct spelling grammar punctuation formatting and content.
Manage billing for assigned attorneys including time entry pre-bills invoicing and compliance with client billing guidelines.
Process incoming invoices from vendors experts and third parties on behalf of clients.
Handle new case assignments conflict checks and matter updates; prepare and close files as needed.
Answer client and team inquiries routing calls as appropriate.
Organize client materials and attorney work product.
File and submit court documents via Florida E-Filing Portal E-Courtesy E-Service JAWS CM/ECF and serve opposing counsel.
Update clients using litigation management portals such as Case Glide Acuity and Legal Tracker.
Utilize firm software efficiently and effectively.
Perform administrative duties including client file management correspondence expense reports CLE tracking and check requests.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma from an accredited institution.
3 5 years of experience in insurance defense legal support.
