Job Description

JOB TITLE: Tool & Fixture Specialist
LOCATION: New Orleans LA
PAY RATE: Up to $41/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Shift: First (6:00 am 2:30 pm)

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

  • Perform complex tool setup inspection repair and fabrication activities for assembly and fabrication tools.

  • Operate manual and computer-controlled machinery hand tools and precision alignment equipment.

  • Provide tooling support design fabrication/assembly tools and perform proof-load integrity tests to ensure safety compliance and operational readiness.

  • Work under general direction with a focus on safety reliability and process improvement.

  • Set up align level and inspect complex tools; perform major repairs as needed.

  • Manufacture and modify tools using manual/CNC machines and precision equipment.

  • Operate factory support equipment including cranes and forklifts to move tools and materials.

  • Design or reverse-engineer tooling based on engineering drawings or requirements.

  • Deliver training on use maintenance and repair of below-the-hook and test equipment.

  • Verify structural integrity and regulatory compliance of purchased fabricated and repaired equipment.

  • Perform and document proof-load tests inspections and maintenance per established procedures.

  • Use MES CMES Maximo/CRPMS and Cribmaster to review verify and record work.

  • Recommend process and procedural improvements to increase safety and reduce downtime.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Proficient in MES Outlook CRPMS.

  • Experience with cranes forklifts and complex tool setup.

  • Strong knowledge of inspection repair and proof-load testing processes.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
