ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE: Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5540 per month

POSITION PURPOSE: The Student Life Coordinator under general direction of the Dean of the Antelope Valley (AV) Campus leads and directs strategic initiatives that enhance student engagement governance and success at the AV campus. This position serves as the primary advisor and advocate for student governance bodies oversees the development and implementation of innovative campus-wide programs and fosters a vibrant and inclusive student experience aligned with institutional priorities. The incumbent collaborates with university leadership faculty and external stakeholders to address complex cross-campus issues and develops policies frameworks and initiatives that have a transformative impact on the student community. With responsibility for administering large-scale budgets ensuring compliance with institutional policies and advancing student well-being this role demands advanced analytical interpersonal and leadership skills to shape the future of student services at the AV campus and beyond.

Oversee AV Students Clubs ASI & Other Student Governance
Collaborate on Campus-Wide Initiatives & Stakeholder Engagement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field plus upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job related and four (4) years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience which includes experience in advising students individually and in groups and in analysis and resolution of complex student services problems. A masters degree in Counseling Clinical Psychology Social Work or a job related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling guidance or a job related field may be substituted for two years of the required professional experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional personal or career counseling.
LICENSES Possession of a valid drivers license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
SKILLS KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES (SKAs)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: SEDENTARY WORK involves mainly sitting; minimal walking and standing; lifting light weight objects limited to 15 pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Drives motorized equipment.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
SCREENING: Only those applicants possessing experience most directly related to the immediate needs of the office will be invited to appear before a Qualifications Appraisal Board for the purpose of appraising training experience and interest in the position.
BACKGROUND CHECK: Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
