REPORTS TO:Building Principal
POSITION PURPOSE: TheBuilding Based School Improvement Specialist will work under the direction of both thebuilding prinicpal. They will work closely withthe District School Improvement Specialists to ensure the School Improvement Plan(s) and Accountability Grantsare implemented to make growth in student achievement and provide an effective learning environment for staff students and parents. TheBuilding Based School Improvement Specialistwill provideinstructional supportto teachers and meet with building leadership as part of the team toimplement monitor and report on will also will also assist each schools leadership team in making decisions as it pertains to the improvement efforts outlined in both the SIP(s) andAccountability Grant(s).
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a certiied teacher with 3 years of successful teaching experience and an M.A. in Educational Leadership or working towards it. The cadidates should have building leadership experiences that can include but are not limited to experiences being on the Building Leadership Team and/or Department or Grade Level Lead.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: This position prefers: prior administrative experience and administrative certification.
PHYSICAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (The incumbent may be required to use the below requirements during any part of the working day.) Speaking hearing visual reading writing word processing mobility consistency of temperament ability to work with a variety of problems at the same time stamina for working long hours and in stress producing environments.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10.5 months; Salary and work year to be determined by Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation ofteachers.
