Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has 43 residency and fellowship programs with 454 residents and fellows. Corewell is the exclusive clinical partner of the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine with more than 1400 doctors on faculty.
Scope of work
Fills medication orders including oral injectable and topical medications and intravenous admixtures.
Enters patient demographics insurance information and prescriptions into the pharmacy information system prioritizing scripts for customers waiting. Appropriately handles and reprocesses rejected claims. Processes prescriptions retrieves correct medication fills and labels prescription and attaches any necessary notifications. Files completed scripts in the patient pickup bins after pharmacist verification. Answers telephone and assists customers at the lobby counter and Pharmacy drive-through window. Updates and electronically transmits the daily drug order monitors and documents/communicates special orders and shortages. Processes daily drug order from wholesaler stocks drug shelves checks for outdated drugs logs controlled drugs and files invoices. Contacts supplier to resolve discrepancies on invoice. Distributes prepared medications to patient care areas patient bedside and/or other departments of the hospital. Reconciles cash drawer twice daily (opening and closing) and documents per policy. Performs other record keeping duties as required. Assists in training of new staff and a resource for IT support personal. Maintains work area in a safe and orderly manner.
Cleaning and dusting of work areas and shelves. Disinfecting of high touch points such as counters credit card devices phones counting utensils and signature pads. May rotate to other outpatient pharmacy sites/home delivery pharmacy as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma program or GED.
Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program. Preferred
LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
LIC-Pharmacist Intern - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
