The Renal Physiopathology group (Vall dHebron Research Institute Barcelona) offers a one-year position for a lab technician to work on a project focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating the renal function in health and more detail the candidate will give support to the research line on renal diseases affecting the proximal tubule from rare pathologies to cancer.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Biomedicine or Biotechnology degree within the last two years.
- Master in Biomedicine or related subjects.
- Excellent grades required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (C1 level or higher).
Desired:
- Bioinformatic skills.
- Statistical knowledge will be strongly valued.
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Previous experience in cell and molecular biology (WB PCR cell culture etc.).
- Knowledge of renal pathophysiology and cancer biology.
- Proactive dynamic and outstanding organizational skills are required.
- Strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Desired:
- Experience with confocal microscopy (fixed and live-imaging)
Main responsibilities and duties:
- The selected candidate will provide support to the research line on the cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating the renal function in health and disease.
- Participate also in other on-going projects of the lab.
- Handling processing and storage of biological samples.
- Support in lab organization.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: 15/09/2025
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
