Position Summary
Career Readiness Learning Objectives: Communication Understand and practice effective communication of I- HACK programs and projects through creative graphics and illustrative language on social media platforms. Technology Become proficient using multiple social media and design platforms to create unique content that effectively displays I- HACK culture and recruits potential students for I- HACK programs. This position is a 10 (at student supervisor discretion) hours per week during the school year during normal business hours 8-4:30pm Monday-Friday. The student worker will provide receptionist support to office visitors route traffic and assist any visitors to the correct office or department as needed. The student worker will be responsible for answering basic questions regarding information about the building and its staff. Other tasks include making deliveries around campus creating and maintaining spreadsheets contributing to events around campus and office functions. This student worker will also aid in the scheduling of available lab/classroom space according to student staff and faculty requests. It is necessary to be able to process information resolve problems respond to request for services make good judgements when determining the need or level of assistance have excellent customer service skills and maintain confidentiality. This student worker will also be responsible for managing and contributing to various social media platforms related to I- HACK and the programs within the College of Engineering and Business. This worker will be responsible for gathering content scheduling recurring posts in business suite communicating with professors and faculty on current projects and reaching out to students about their experiences. This student will also be tasked with researching creating and implementing a marketing communications strategy plan for various social media accounts. This plan will likely change each semester according to flexible objectives KPIs and available content. This student worker will also assist with management and content development of internal and external websites related to I- HACK and its programs. Other advanced tasks include conducting research on topics including but are not limited to higher education trends potential industry partners local community contact information academic news and educational updates. This position will also be trained in event management by assisting in coordinating and planning recruitment and retention events for the department as well as assisting during the implementation of the event plan. Other tasks related to event management include creating marketing materials such as flyers activities and digital graphics to promote events programs and projects within the department. Posts and content creation will be submitted for approval to the student hiring manager and are subject to change.
