Job Description:
The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (CPPS) Department of Pharmacy Practice is seeking a motivated professional to fill a 12-month tenure track Clinical Assistant Professor position with a patient care practice within the UToledo Health Internal Medicine Ambulatory Care clinic. Additionally the individual will serve as the Director of the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) program for the Doctor of Pharmacy program in the college. The individual will report to the CPPS Chair of the Pharmacy Practice Department.

Duties: Overall duties include didactic and experiential teaching patient care directing the IPPE program scholarly activity and service. The individual will teach in the CPPS PharmD program and will maintain an interprofessional collaborative ambulatory care practice with the UToledo Health Department of Internal Medicine. The academic responsibilities of the clinical faculty member may include teaching in the classroom and skills-based laboratory portions of the didactic curriculum precepting entry level Doctor of Pharmacy students (IPPEs and APPEs) and PGY1 pharmacy residents and advising students.
The clinical practice will focus on achieving meaningful patient outcomes and may include but is not limited to: chronic disease state management medication therapy management transitions of care telehealth and population-based quality improvement initiatives. Scholarly activity including coordinating and conducting quality improvement projects developing collaborative treatment and research protocols and presenting and publishing original work is expected and will be supported.
As Director of the IPPE the individual will serve as the administrative officer for the IPPE program and will be responsible for the successful planning organization policy development implementation and direction of all aspects of the program. As the IPPE administrative officer the individual will be responsible for the personnel management of all individuals within IPPE and will be expected to ensure that students who interact with the faculty and staff have a high-quality experience that exemplifies the values of the institution. Specific responsibilities of the IPPE Director include but are not limited to: 1) Coordinating and delivering all didactic courses in the IPPE series. 2) Recruiting and onboarding appropriate quantity and quality of IPPE sites and preceptors to deliver the IPPE experiential hours required in the curriculum. 3) Reviewing revising and implementing policies and procedures related to the IPPE course and associated experiences. 4) Ensuring that the IPPE curriculum meets or exceeds the standards set forth for IPPE within the ACPE standards. 5) Working with the Experiential Team to ensure preceptor training quality assurance compliance with affiliation agreement site visits and any other programmatic requirements set forth by accreditation standards. 6) Representing the needs of the experiential program on college committees including assuring that all students admitted to the PharmD program will be eligible for the experiential portion of the curriculum with regards to health professional and legal requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
PharmD degree and PGY1 Pharmacy Residency (or equivalent experience) required. Leadership Experience in IPPE program required. Some research and scholarly activity experience is expected. Teaching / academic experience required. Must hold current and unrestricted Ohio Pharmacist license or be eligible for licensure with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. Must be eligible for employment in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Community Practice or Ambulatory Care preferred
