Student Worker-Bookstore Sales Associate
The Bookstore Work Study Position is responsible for operating the cash register and preparing bookstore merchandise for sale.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists Bookstore customers.
- Operates cash register.
- Prepares merchandise for sale by stocking shelves pricing merchandise and other related duties.
- Maintains the stores overall physical appearance.
- Performs miscellaneous clerical duties.
- Assists the Bookstore Manager and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Mental and Physical Requirements/Skills:
- Ability to perform assigned duties with frequent interruptions and time pressures.
- Ability to utilize necessary equipment.
- Ability to maintain mental concentration for extended periods of time.
- Ability to analyze and resolve routine problems.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift and carry in excess of 25 pounds.
Education Training and Experience:
- Requires less than one year of experience in a retail operation
Working Environment and Conditions:
- Performs assigned duties in a ventilated lighted and temperature-controlled office environment.
