Job Description

NINOS Inc. provides comprehensive services to children and families in Cameron and Willacy Counties through Head Start and Early Head Start programs. We are seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Director of Finance to lead our finance department ensure fiscal integrity and support our commitment to children and families.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field.

  • 5 years of accounting and finance management experience with Head Start grants.

  • Supervisory experience in fiscal management and administration.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry.

  • Valid drivers license reliable transportation and clear background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license or equivalent.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) and/or resident of Cameron or Willacy County.

  • Experience working with diverse and disadvantaged populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all finance operations including budgeting payroll procurement and audits.

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP federal and state regulations and Head Start Performance Standards.

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements reports and grant submissions.

  • Lead and supervise finance staff fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.

  • Coordinate annual audits tax filings and federal financial reporting.

  • Present financial updates to leadership Policy Council and Board of Directors.
