Job Title: Director of Quality and Risk
Location: Beckley West Virginia
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced healthcare professional to lead our Quality/Performance Improvement Risk Management and Medical Staff Office departments. The Director of Quality and Risk will play a vital role in ensuring regulatory compliance enhancing patient safety and driving continuous improvement across our organization. This individual will also serve as the Patient Safety Officer and Ethics and Compliance Officer working collaboratively with medical staff and leadership to support high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the activities of the Quality/Performance Improvement and Risk Management departments.
Oversee the Medical Staff Office to ensure effective collaboration and credentialing processes.
Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable regulatory licensing and accreditation requirements.
Act as the designated Patient Safety Officer and Ethics and Compliance Officer.
Design and implement performance improvement and risk management initiatives.
Analyze trends and data to recommend proactive strategies for quality enhancement and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with medical and clinical teams to identify and resolve barriers to optimal patient care.
Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership and governing boards.
Education:
Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred (Healthcare Administration Nursing or related field).
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of healthcare experience; clinical background strongly preferred.
At least 2 years in clinical risk management is preferred.
Prior supervisory or management experience is a plus.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) and Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) required or must be obtained within two years of hire.
