Job Description

We are working closely alongside with Achieving for Children to assist with the appointment of a Youth Justice Case Worker on a 2-week contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 25.00 - 32.97 per hour

Summary:

The Youth Justice Case Worker will be a key practitioner within Achieving for Childrens Youth Justice Service responsible for delivering high-quality evidence-based interventions to children and young people who have offended or are at risk of offending. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a range of partners including police courts victims and other agencies ensuring a child-first approach that balances accountability with welfare aiming to divert young people from the criminal justice system and support their successful integration into the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of children and young people subject to various youth justice disposals (e.g. Out of Court Disposals Referral Orders Youth Rehabilitation Orders) ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and court orders.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of needs and risks (e.g. AssetPlus) identifying factors contributing to offending behaviour and collaboratively develop individualised intervention plans that address these needs and minimise re-offending.
  • Attend Youth Court and Crown Court as required preparing pre-sentence reports breach reports and other court documents and providing clear professional advice to the judiciary.
  • Adhere to all relevant legislation statutory guidance local policies and procedures and professional standards for youth justice practitioners.
  • Actively participate in regular professional supervision reflective practice sessions and continuous professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • A recognised qualification in Youth Justice Social Work Probation Criminal Justice or a related field (e.g. Degree in Social Work BA/BSc Youth Justice Diploma in Probation Studies JNC qualification for Youth Work).

Essentials:

  • Proven experience of working directly with children and young people who have offended or are at risk of offending ideally within a youth justice social care or criminal justice setting.
  • Experience of report writing and presenting information clearly and concisely including for court.
  • Understanding and application of safeguarding principles and procedures for children and young people.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
