About the role
Were looking for an exceptional Engineering Lead to lead our Network Engineering team to be based in London to deliver automated scalable stable and well documented solutions as part of the UT team and in collaboration with other Platform Engineering teams. This is a unique opportunity to bring your ideas and expertise to one of the fastest-growing tech companies in Europe to help secure and improve our network infrastructure and ensure all of our teams stay connected no matter where they are in the world.
Here at Wise UT Network Engineering were working to create a seamless IT experience by offering all the tools people need to do the best work they can and simultaneously avoid being a speed hump. We have a highly mobile geographically diverse work environment. Currently we look after network infrastructure where zero trust network access cloud networking and automation-driven networking play important roles.
Qualifications :
In This Role You Will
Lead and develop a high-performing network engineering team.
Driving the teams technical roadmap and contributing to architecture.
Ensure the quality reliability and delivery of the teams systems.
Contribute directly through hands-on coding and architect design.
Manage the performance and wellbeing of the engineers of your team.
Actively participate in the recruitment process and make hiring decisions to grow the team.
Be responsible for the growth of the engineers in the team through feedback and both passive and active coaching.
Ensure the teams composition is balanced and correctly sized with respect to the roadmap.
Create a culture of ownership inside the team where every engineer is accountable for their work.
Own the technical roadmap of the team ensuring it addresses important technical debt and any reliability security or scalability concerns.
Active contributors in the delivery of the team. You support day-to-day execution of work
Guide the teams technical approach while actively contributing to designing developing testing and deploying features and services to enable money movement capabilities in existing and new Hispanic American markets..
Propose and advocate for high-quality technical designs and solutions that are scalable reliable and compliant.
Participate in code and design reviews within your team providing constructive feedback to maintain and elevate our engineering standards.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including project managers engineers and technicians in other global teams and vendors to align on product vision and technical implementation.
Essential skills:
2 year experiences in leading and managing high-performing engineering teams
Solid in TCP/IP networking Linux containerisation and sysadmin skills
Solid programming experience with Go and/or Python
Solid infrastructure automation skills - Terraform and Ansible
Experience in implementing SRE and IaC principles
You take pride in keeping the works organised and the house clean and tidy
Youre passionate about helping others and keen to roll up your sleeves and take ownership to drive company-wide impact
Nice to Have
Good fundamentals in DNS and network security
Experience in AWS networking
If you have experience with other tools or tech stacks not listed wed like to hear from you
