Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Custodian I to join our facility maintenance team in Kenner United this role you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness sanitation and overall appearance of our facilities while ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety are consistently met.
- Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping mopping dusting and sanitizing various areas of the facility
- Clean and maintain restroom facilities including restocking supplies and ensuring proper sanitation
- Empty and clean waste receptacles throughout the building
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas walkways and entrance areas
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers vacuum cleaners and pressure washers
- Handle cleaning chemicals and supplies according to safety protocols
- Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to appropriate personnel
- Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies and special requests
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Assist with special cleaning projects and seasonal maintenance tasks
- Document completed tasks and maintenance activities
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of custodial or janitorial experience
- Experience with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Physical ability to stand walk bend and lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent time management and reliability
- Basic computer skills for maintenance requests and documentation
- Valid drivers license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and OSHA standards
- Experience in high-traffic facilities preferred
- Must pass background check and drug screening
