Job Description
- Carry out electrical maintenance and fault diagnosis for machines and equipment across the plant.
- Perform electrical assembly tasks and ensure proper start-up and shutdown procedures for machinery and utility systems.
- Manage power changeover activities between TANESCO and DG sources.
- Maintain an up-to-date list of required spare parts and inform the Maintenance Manager proactively.
- Work towards minimizing downtime with the goal of achieving zero breakdown hours.
- Comply with all safety protocols for machines tools and electrical components.
- Obtain approved work permits before executing high-risk tasks especially at heights or in intricate machine areas.
- Maintain accurate records of daily and weekly breakdowns and preventive maintenance activities.
- Adhere strictly to PPE and established safety procedures when handling machines and electrical equipment.
- Support the Maintenance Manager with major maintenance work on plant wiring substations transformers and related systems.
- Ensure thorough housekeeping and cleanliness of machines tools and work areas after task completion.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Certificate Grade/Level 3 or FTC in Electrical Engineering.
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and fault diagnosis.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and measurements.
- Basic proficiency in Swahili and English both written and spoken.
