3 months contract with a Local Authority
Job Summary:
We are seeking hardworking conscientious and physically fit individuals with proven experience in caretaking or cleaning within a professional environment.
As part of the in-house Caretaking Team you will play a vital role in ensuring that internal and external communal areas across housing estates are clean safe and well-maintained.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
Cleaning communal areas including stairwells corridors entrances car parks and service roads.
Performing tasks such as mopping sweeping dusting litter picking and bulk waste removal.
Supporting building and fire safety by adhering to relevant legislation and site procedures.
Conducting regular site inspections and reporting maintenance or safety issues.
Working collaboratively with the team to meet daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
Skills/Experience:
Prior experience in caretaking facilities or commercial cleaning.
Understanding of health & safety fire safety and building safety regulations.
Basic manual handling awareness and physical capability for manual tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an outdoor and indoor setting.
Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and residents.
Additional Information:
Full clean UK Manual Driving Licence (essential).
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00am 4:00pm (45 mins lunch Mon Thurs 1 hour Fri).
Contract: Temporary 12 weeks (with potential extension).
Prior experience in caretaking, facilities, or commercial cleaning. Understanding of health & safety, fire safety, and building safety regulations. Basic manual handling awareness and physical capability for manual tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in an outdoor and indoor setting. Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and residents.
