Scientific Manager COA Implementation Patient Centered Solutions

Our Team

IQVIA provides scientific services spanning clinical trials real world evidence and consulting in all areas of the product lifecycle. The Patient Centered Solutions (PCS) team leads the industry in generating data to ensure that the patient voice is incorporated into the development and commercialization of medication and other drug/non-drug interventions. We focus on understanding and meeting the needs of our clients through the application of broad consulting expertise and technical scientific knowledge to design scientifically rigorous research.

As part of PCSs commitment to patients we have established the PCS-Implementation (PCS-I) team with the aim of ensuring high quality patient experience data (PED) are collected in clinical studies. Our PCS-I enhanced eCOA services include robust eCOA or digital design UAT training and analytical insights / monitoring of PED within a clinical study. Our approaches are rooted in behavioral science clinical expertise and technology to uniquely address common pitfalls in PED / eCOA data collection. This fast-growing team is seeking highly motivated individuals to help build our business meet client demands and re-imagine how the pharma industry engages with patients.

Responsibilities

A Scientific Manager in the PCS-I team is responsible for managing and leading client projects to implement COAs in clinical studies. This role will manage project teams of scientific associates subject matter experts and collaborating with clinical study team roles to ensure quality timely and efficient delivery of patient experience data (PED) collection solutions on clinical studies. To fill this role it is essential that a Scientific Manager are able to undertake the following client-focused activities:

  • Manage and contribute to the execution of PCSI client projects in the timely delivery of client deliverables and presentations; from project kick off until close
  • Provide oversight tracking and monitoring of project progress
  • Plan organize and manage resources (internal and external) and delivery timelines to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to ensure alignment with broader sponsor study scope and milestones
  • Adhere to established processes and SOPs to deliver high-quality services and deliverables
  • Develop client relationships through face-to-face discussions telephone and email contact
  • Ensure clear communication throughout projects and within the team
  • Support the development of guidelines best practices and lessons learned for use on future engagements
  • Provide direction advice and intellectual leadership to clients and delivery teams focused on eCOA implementation and patient experience data (PED) quality
  • Support development of proposals

In addition to the client-focused activities a Scientific Manager is also expected to contribute and lead towards the continued growth of the practice and support the development of the team. It is important that Scientific Managers:

  • Demonstrate and build content area knowledge and keep abreast of key issues and current developments within the industry related to PED and COAs
  • Contribute to thought leadership and scientific research activities related to COA implementation including publications external presentations and marketing activities
  • Help shape the PCS-I teams methodology and approaches for client engagements and collaboration with other relevant IQVIA teams and functions
  • Train and mentor junior team members in both project management skills as well as content area knowledge in patient engagement and experience
  • Contribute to internal strategic and operational initiatives related to PCSI business area

Required Minimum Education and Experience

  • An advanced degree in a relevant discipline e.g. biological sciences public health epidemiology psychology sociology health economics
  • Strong experience working in roles related to COA/PRO development strategy and implementation; preferably with experience related to eCOA/ePRO
  • At least 5 years of experience in scientific consulting research or delivery of eCOA within the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry
  • Ability to rapidly understand new scientific content and to engage meaningfully with clients and project teams
  • Excellent organization and project management skills
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including presentations leading meetings external conference presentations workshop facilitation and report writing
  • Fluent conversational and business English (written and oral); additional languages an advantage
  • Right to work in the recruiting country

The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge skills education and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered incentive plans bonuses and/or other forms of compensation may be offered in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
