Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and perform maintenance repair and installation of retail equipment such as POS systems HVAC refrigeration units electrical and mechanical systems.

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical problems in electrical mechanical or electronic systems used within the retail space.

  • Coordinate with external contractors or vendors for specialized repairs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

  • Lead train and mentor junior technicians or maintenance staff ensuring adherence to company policies and maintenance protocols.

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities repairs and parts inventory for accountability and scheduling.

  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or service interruptions to minimize downtime and customer impact.

  • Ensure work areas and equipment meet safety and cleanliness standards within the retail environment.

  • Assist in managing procurement and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

  • Equipment uptime and operational efficiency in retail outlets.

  • Timely completion of scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance.

  • Reduction in equipment breakdown frequency through effective monitoring.

  • Compliance with safety regulations and maintenance standards.

  • Efficient management and training of maintenance team.

  • Accurate documentation and reporting of maintenance activities.

  • Cost control related to maintenance and repair activities.


Requirements

Skills Required:

  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical electrical electronic systems and retail-specific equipment (e.g. POS machines refrigeration).

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting diagnosing faults and repairing complex systems.

  • Leadership skills to supervise junior technicians and coordinate with external vendors.

  • Good communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with store management and external parties.

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals blueprints and maintenance schedules.

  • Knowledge of safety standards regulatory compliance and risk assessment procedures.

  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems and record-keeping.

  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform hands-on repairs and inspections.
