Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and perform maintenance repair and installation of retail equipment such as POS systems HVAC refrigeration units electrical and mechanical systems.
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex technical problems in electrical mechanical or electronic systems used within the retail space.
Coordinate with external contractors or vendors for specialized repairs and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Lead train and mentor junior technicians or maintenance staff ensuring adherence to company policies and maintenance protocols.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities repairs and parts inventory for accountability and scheduling.
Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or service interruptions to minimize downtime and customer impact.
Ensure work areas and equipment meet safety and cleanliness standards within the retail environment.
Assist in managing procurement and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
Key Result Areas (KRAs):
Equipment uptime and operational efficiency in retail outlets.
Timely completion of scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance.
Reduction in equipment breakdown frequency through effective monitoring.
Compliance with safety regulations and maintenance standards.
Efficient management and training of maintenance team.
Accurate documentation and reporting of maintenance activities.
Cost control related to maintenance and repair activities.
Requirements
Skills Required:
Strong technical expertise in mechanical electrical electronic systems and retail-specific equipment (e.g. POS machines refrigeration).
Proficiency in troubleshooting diagnosing faults and repairing complex systems.
Leadership skills to supervise junior technicians and coordinate with external vendors.
Good communication skills for clear reporting and coordination with store management and external parties.
Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals blueprints and maintenance schedules.
Knowledge of safety standards regulatory compliance and risk assessment procedures.
Familiarity with maintenance management systems and record-keeping.
Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform hands-on repairs and inspections.
