About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Senior Project Officer Data Management & Reporting (Threatened Species) to work as part of the Threatened Species Unit in the Biodiversity and Ecological Health Branch and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment flora fauna and Aboriginal heritage.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the initiative ability and desire to work in small dynamic and productive team. Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis of large ecological datasets and designing species monitoring programs with advanced proficiency in R Power BI and ArcGIS will be highly regarded. An understanding of procurement and contract management and some public sector knowledge would be desirable.
About You
As a Senior Project Officer you will manage projects by overseeing planning approvals stakeholder engagement procurement budgets contracts and staff supervision ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes. Your strong attention to detail in governance data management cultural heritage environmental considerations and project management will drive your success in this role.
You will be a dedicated data management professional with a passion for ecological conservation and a proven ability to integrate and analyse complex datasets to support threatened species programs. With expertise in developing data products implementing reporting frameworks and ensuring data integrity and security you will thrive in collaborative environments working with diverse stakeholders to facilitate data sharing and drive informed decision-making. Your strong analytical skills combined with a commitment to leveraging innovative technologies and maintaining high standards will enable you to deliver impactful solutions that advance the National Parks and Wildlife Services mission of achieving zero extinctions and ecologically informed park management.
