Start your journey towards success! DPS Central Human Resources is currently accepting applications for an Agency Human Resources Consultant III (Employee Engagement Consultant) in Raleigh NC.

We value our employees and are committed to providing flexibility in work schedules. This position qualifies for teleworking on a part-time basis as part of the State Telework Program.

The Agency Human Resources Consultant III will serve as an Employee Engagement Consultant in the Central Human Resources Office of the NC Department of Public Safety. This position will focus on Employee Engagement Promotion/Marketing of Programs and Data Analysis and Reporting as it relates to staff retention employee wellness and employee morale.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Experience designing and implementing and evaluating strategies and priorities focused on increasing employee engagement and retention (such as recognition programs employee events and onboarding/offboarding).
  • Collaborating with internal/external workgroups to support agency initiatives priorities and projects that promote engagement.
  • Serving on management focus groups committees and teams.
  • Working with HR leadership to implement HR communication plans that support the departments long-term goals enhance the employee experience ensure brand and message consistency and support organizational change.
  • Designing composing editing and disseminating internal HR communications such as memorandums announcements program content policy updates and services.
  • Designing editing and maintaining the HR intranet and pre-onboarding SharePoint sites.
  • Collaborating with hiring managers to develop and coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding strategies.
  • Reviewing impact of employee engagement programs and strategies and offer suggestions for improvement.
The position also requires excellent written communication and time management skills as well as proficiency in consulting and project management.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits including paid vacation paid sick leave paid holidays retirement and health insurance. About DPS Central Human Resources:

The Recruitment and Staffing Unit is responsible for managing and administering the recruitment program for all non-certified positions and temporary staffing services for the Department of Public Safety (DPS). The Operations Unit within Central HR provides HR services and support in the assigned areas to over 3500 permanent DPS employees 150 temporary employees 10000 National Guard members. The Division reviews analyzes and provides consultation to DPS management on strategic recruitment and staffing needs to include training hiring managers recruitment and posting of positions applicant screening for qualified and not qualified and recruitment priority screening (RIF Promotion Veterans) applicant tracking implementing special recruitment initiatives for difficult to recruit positions coordinating and participating in hiring events and the DPS Internship program.

  • Experience designing or implementing employee pre-onboarding/onboarding/offboarding.

  • Experience with event management and/or event planning.

  • Experience crafting/delivering written communications across an organization.

  • Experience using design tools/software (i.e. Canva Illustrator InDesign Photoshop) to support communication efforts.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and 4 years of experience required;

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and 6 years of progressive experience in Human Resources;

equivalent combination of education and experience.
