Job Description
As a Senior Manager in Card Partnerships Accounting at Capital One you will get a front row seat to exciting strategic initiatives in the Card business as you oversee accounting and reporting for Card Partnerships and horizontal functions. You will lead a high-performing team with a focus on evolving our financial processes alongside new business initiatives and product launches.
You will bring a risk-centric mindset to govern important accounting processes and ensure financial results are reported completely and accurately. Your role will provide an opportunity to present financial analysis technical accounting impacts and more to executive stakeholders and partner with Financial Planning Corporate Development Partnerships business teams and others to drive appropriate accounting and reporting in our external filings and internal reporting.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of motivated associates responsible for accurate accounting and financial reporting of Card Partnerships results
Actively support training development and evaluation of associates to create a high-performing cohesive team
Drive improvements for Partnership accounting by aligning processes and activities with Controllers strategy
Present monthly quarterly and annual analysis of results to VP focusing on explaining key drivers of periodic changes and differences to expectations
Partner cross-functionally with customers and stakeholders to support the accounting for partnership portfolio acquisitions dispositions and contract modifications
Foster strong relationships with stakeholder teams
Develop deep subject matter expertise in accounting aspects of the Partnerships portfolio and consult with business partners on accounting treatment impacts to financial reporting
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or military experience
At least 7 years of experience in accounting OR audit OR finance OR a combination
At least 2 years experience of people management
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
At least 8 years of experience in accounting or audit or finance or a combination
At least 3 years experience in of people management

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean VA: $170800 - $194900 for Sr. Manager AccountingCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
