Senior Python & Java Automation Engineer (Remote)
ARC Group has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Java Developer! This position is 100% remote working eastern time zone business hours. This is starting out as a contract position running through December 2025 with strong potential to extend longer or convert to FTE. Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Python (e.g. Pytest unittest)
- Develop and maintain Java-based web services (SOAP & REST)
- Automate UI and API testing using tools like Playwright Selenium Postman and Bruno
- Leverage Generative AI tools and prompt engineering for faster debugging test generation and code improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams including Pega developers and DevOps engineers
- Contribute to test architecture code reviews documentation and mentoring of junior team members
Must-Have Skills:
- 5 years of Java application development experience including:
- Development of SOAP and RESTful web services
- Use of JUnit TestNG or similar Java test frameworks
- 5 years of hands-on Python automation experience
- Strong knowledge of Pytest unittest or similar frameworks
- Proficiency with API and Web automation tools: Selenium Playwright Postman Bruno
- Familiarity with prompt engineering concepts and use of GenAI tools for code/test acceleration
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum or Kanban)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins GitLab VS Code
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS
- Familiarity with Docker Kubernetes or similar container technologies
- Experience with Pega platform or other low-code BPM tools
- Understanding of DevOps practices including continuous integration and continuous testing
