Summary
The Teaching Lab Specialist I Cryogenics Lab at Iowa State Universitys College of Veterinary Medicine supports advanced reproductive services and facilitates hands-on laboratory instruction and clinical operations. This position is central to teaching managing cryogenic lab functions supporting veterinarians and students and ensuring top-tier quality and safety practices.
Example of Duties
Coordinates space and monitors use of teaching labs.
Maintains and repairs equipment.
Directs the purchase service and repair of equipment and machinery.
Designs and tests lab protocols and revises as necessary.
Prepares and revises lab manuals.
Develops lab materials for instruction.
Manages budgetary needs.
Enforces safety standards in labs through training and written materials.
Schedules and evaluates staff graduate assistants and student workers.
Level Guidelines
Individual contributor position with developing professional and/or technical skills working under immediate to general supervision
Grasps professional-level knowledge and concepts of field while working in a progressive learning mode
Works on problems and issues of somewhat limited scope
