Job Description
Overview
The Community Maps team is looking for a GIS Engineer I with a passion for geospatial data online mapping and GIS project this role youll work with a variety of datasetsediting performing quality checks and ensuring cartographic standardswhile supporting our contributors in building the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World. If youre detail-oriented deadline-driven and excited to make an impact through mapping wed love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Data evaluation and assess for integration and cartographic standards
- Coordinate and communicate with customers regarding data feedback requirements and project status
- Organize and delegate assignments with subcontractors
- Assess map and data processing quality assurance procedures
- Perform geospatial data editing tasks in ArcGIS as needed
- Utilize ArcGIS Pro ArcGIS Workflow Manager JIRA MS Excel
Requirements
- 1 years professional experience working with ArcGIS Pro and Online
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver work within time constraints in team environment and individually
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to articulate complex problems simply and procedurally
- Keen attention to detail and drive to resolve any issues encountered
- Ability to understand new data requirements and concepts quickly and apply them accurately through an evolving dynamic environment
- Bachelors in GIS geography environmental science or other related field
Recommended Qualifications
- Knowledge of or experience in data editing digital map and data publication
- Knowledge of or experience in data quality assurance processes
- Experience with GIS and/or the Esri ArcGIS platform including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
