Description

Emerson has an exciting opportunity in our Sherman TX location to join our team as a Weekend Shift Machinist (Friday Saturday Sunday 6AM-6PM). If you are safety conscious follow through on commitments and work well in a team environment this position is for you. As a Machinist you will be responsible for producing parts of a high degree of complexity for the Sherman operations.

In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Producing parts and meeting all specifications and tolerance required from work orders shop orders and/or Fisher specifications.
  • Operating any machine including manual and CNC machines to its proven capability in a highly productive manner.
  • Coordinating setups and programming issues with machine shop programmers including setting up the part defining work planes and managing different geometries.
  • Inspecting all detail parts to ensure operations conform to requirement.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Reporting status of work using computer input bar code or other devices as required.

For This Role You Will Need:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
  • Completion of Machine Shop program at an accredited school or equivalent machining experience.
  • Proficiency with Mastercam.
  • Proficient with the use of manual and CNC machines including ability to read and edit CNC programs.
  • Ability to use micrometers dial calipers functional gauges and engineering prints.
