Achieving climate neutrality by mid-century requires decisive efforts across all sectors of society. Early investments in clean technologies not only cut emissions but also reduce fossil fuel dependence and boost long-term competitiveness of industry helping position companies as leaders in emerging markets for climate-neutral products. Smart policy support can turn climate action into a competitive advantage. Understanding the processes and challenges is essential for taking political decisions and enabling a smooth transition to a climate-neutral economy.
The Agora think tanks Agora Energiewende Agora Industry and Agora Agriculture drive systemic transformation by developing evidence-based policy solutions assessing technology options and building international collaborations. As independent and non-partisan think tanks and policy laboratories we analyse upcoming challenges share knowledge with decision-makers and stakeholders inform the public debate and enable a productive exchange of ideas.
Our team is multinational multidisciplinary and works across the globe with various partner organisations. To strengthen the reach and impact of our work we are currently looking for a:
Manager Press and Communications
Berlin-based full-or part-time role (min. 32 hrs) f/m/d
In this role you will be part of our 18-person communications team based across Berlin Brussels and Bangkok. You will primarily work on topics related to achieving climate-neutral industry internationally and in Germany coordinating closely with our communication colleagues in close cooperation with content teams working on the industry transformation and related topics you will develop narratives and messaging communicating about Agoras work through various channels liaise with journalists maintain and build on a network of communication partnerships and further develop Agoras communication strategy.

Your responsibilities include
- Managing Agoras communication and outreach relating primarily to our work on industry internationally and in Germany. This includes pitching stories working with different communication formats writing press releases organising press events and producing web and social media content in close collaboration with content leads;
- Keeping up with debates to develop relevant messages;
- Project management to guide content teams in their outreach and team support for all communications-related activities;
- Internal communications to ensure flow of information and knowledge sharing;
- Liaising with journalists and responding to media requests particularly on our climate-neutral industry work in cooperation with relevant colleagues;
- Collaborating with communication colleagues of think tank partners (in particular the International Network of Energy Transition Think Tanks INETTT);
- Further developing Agoras Industrys communication strategy;
- Enhancing the Agora Industry brand and its outreach channels (newsletters events website social media) across different geographies;
- Moderating public events;
- Working closely with communication colleagues in Brussels on EU industry work.

We are looking for
- At least 4 years of work experience and a proven track-record in communications e.g. in the PR-sector or in a similar role in another organisation;
- Outstanding writing skills and demonstrated experience in producing compelling media/outreach materials;
- A political mind withthestrong desire to actively shape the global clean energy and industry transition;
- Strong project management skills;
- Collaborative spirit with the desire to work in a diverse teamin different geographies;
- Preferably a solid understanding ofenergy and industrial policies;
- A confident practical and entrepreneurial character with openness to working hands-on proactively and independently on diverse challenges and topics in parallel;
- Full command of English and German language in speaking reading and writing; other languages a plus; and
- Proven skills in dealing with social media ideally including video and audio and experience in using CMS (like Typo 3).
