The role
As a Project Officer youll be a key contributor to developing and delivering impactful projects including operational policy and procedure development and legislative reform within established objectives. Youll manage project activities to deliver quality results on time support decisions with clear documentation and engage stakeholders effectively.
Clear communication and strong collaboration will be key to achieving meaningful outcomes in a fast-paced environment where youll handle challenges with care especially those affecting Aboriginal peoples and communities.
You will have the opportunity to support the capability of senior leaders across the sector through projects aimed at:
- Building partnerships between senior leaders and Aboriginal staff within the NSW Public Sector to build cultural capability and enable Aboriginal outcomes sector wide.
- Enabling our people to get out on Country to feel express and experience culture in Aboriginal communities the place-based cultural immersion.
- Equipping our Directors with the knowledge leadership skills and practical tools to effectively drive Aboriginal outcomes and create meaningful change within their portfolios.

What you will bring to the role:
- Project Management: Deliver project support services including maintaining documentation preparing reports and coordinating resources to ensure successful outcomes within scope budget and timelines.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Evaluate and refine operational policies and procedures to enhance clarity efficiency and alignment with statutory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate with stakeholders coordinate consultations and facilitate collaboration to support policy development and legislative objectives.
- Knowledge of the NSW Planning system: Experience in planning and environmental legislation and processes such as strategic planning are desired but not essential.
Knowledge and experience
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples communities and entities.

- is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent and
- identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and
- is accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
You will be required to provide Confirmation of Aboriginality upon application to be considered for this position.
