Primary Purpose
The Validations Specialist is a clerical/administrative position that provides support for Validations. Duties include
assisting the Validations Analyst(s) to ensure the agency is in compliance with applicable state and national policies
governing the use of Florida Criminal Information Center/National Criminal Information Center (FCIC/NCIC) CJNet
and other related information systems. This position will perform entries and clears from the FCIC/NCIC system upload
information into supplemental reports and other duties as assigned while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Education and Qualification Requirement
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Valid Florida Drivers License
- Type 25 WPM
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of general office equipment
- FDLE/NCIC Full Access Terminal Operator Certification required or become certified within six (6) months.
Duties
- Enter and review NCIC Unidentified Deceased/Missing person report
- Process wrecker requests for title and lien information
- Respond to and request assistance from another agency
- Request enter operate validate. modify or destroy FCIC/NCIC information inquires entries and modifications
- Send FCIC/NCIC administrative messages
- Conduct DMV inquiries
- Run FCIC/NCIC and/or local checks on property
- Retrieve enter verify information from local agencies
- Assist with audits
- Mail validation letter(s) to victim(s) via certified mail with return receipt request to verify stolen property or missing persons maintain logs of all correspondence mailed follow up by telephone if no response
- Attend FDLE CJIS and FCIC Region II meetings and Symposiums
- Issue assign update correct CJIS passwords/log-on verify proper training of all operators in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Write supplemental narratives in Case Management
- Run and disseminate criminal history information
- Request DNA and dental records to add to missing person entries
- Follow up with wrecker companies on abandoned vehicle entries
- Register FCIC users to attend Full Access class
- Remove retained fingerprints from FALCON when employee separates from SJSO
- Validate records
- Store and dispose of FCIC/NCIC teletype files
- Cancel or clear FCIC/NCIC entries
- Recognize minor typographical/clerical errors

- Provide assistance to citizens visitors employees and other public and private entities in an effort to meet their needs and build positive community relationships
- Adhere to leave overtime and attendance policies/procedures (i.e. arrive promptly regular attendance at work notification to supervisor regarding absence from work due to illness or untimely incidents etc.)
