This Position reports to:
Chapter Leader-Solution Product Management Construction & InfrastructureIn this role you will have the opportunity to manage the marketing of ABBs offerings to targeted market segments and manage the offerings throughout their lifecycle in line with market needs and division/product group/business line strategy and targets. Each day you will be accountable for the long-term profitable growth of an offer. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting business results by overseeing each step involved in the offer lifecycle including development launch go-to-market maintenance pricing and profitability.
The work model for the role is flexible and can accommodate a remote location depending on skills and experience. If remote travel (by air) will be required to support activities within the group as well as to interface personally with internal and external stakeholders.
This role is contributing to the Switchboard product team within Smart Power with primary focus on strategic product development for the United States. Main stakeholders include the R&D team for switchboards with whom you will have primary contact and manufacturing as well as ABB customer-facing groups such as Product Marketing and Customer Sales.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the market intelligence analysis and identifying potential gaps in the portfolio with respect to the competition and new market opportunities.
Owning technical and market specification for the offer and determining an offering business plan that supports sustainable growth while leading customer need and value analysis planning the roadmap to create maximum value and following-up on portfolio performance.
Leading the offer lifecycle management process analyzing current offers defining and tracking performance metrics and making decisions on offer obsolescence and end-of life to ensure that current and future market requirements are met to maximize their profitability.
Setting targets monitoring offering costs and giving inputs to operations functions (e.g. Supply Chain Management Engineering Production) to maximize competitiveness and profitability.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering Business or related field Masters a Plus
Minimum of 5 years of experience Product Development or related Field.
Strong leadership / influencing skills; Strong communication skills & ability to lead and influence without direct authority.
Strategic thinking able to analyze and manage complex business situations using appropriate software and tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Assertiveness and ability to work in a virtual team.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% occasionally internationally.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicants qualifications and experience this position is expected to pay between $116200 and $215800 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
