Job Description

Job Description Summary

As a Systems Engineer in GE HealthCares Bone & Metabolic Health (BMH) division you will play a critical role in the design integration and validation of dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) systems. You will lead cross-functional efforts to ensure our bone densitometry products meet clinical regulatory and customer requirements. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with a mechanical background and a passion for delivering impactful healthcare solutions.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead system-level design and integration activities for DXA products ensuring alignment with clinical and business needs.
  • Translate customer and regulatory requirements into system specifications and design inputs.
  • Collaborate with hardware software mechanical and quality teams to ensure cohesive system architecture and performance.
  • Drive risk management activities including FMEA and hazard analysis.
  • Lead verification and validation planning and execution including test development and data analysis.
  • Support design reviews technical documentation and regulatory submissions (e.g. 510(k)).
  • Investigate and resolve complex system-level issues including field complaints and manufacturing challenges.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in systems engineering product development or a related technical role.
  • Strong understanding of system integration verification and validation processes.
  • Experience with medical devices or regulated industries.
  • Excellent problem-solving communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

  • Masters degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Experience with DXA or other imaging modalities.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations ISO 13485 and IEC 60601 standards.
  • Proficiency in tools such as DOORS SolidWorks MATLAB or similar.
