Principal Engineer - Control & Instrumentation

Location: Salford Quays Manchester

Description

Our client operates across the chemical pharmaceutical process manufacturing nuclear and power generation sectors providing EC&I services for intricate projects throughout the UK and Europe.

Our seasoned experience in offering solutions tailored to the design installation operation and maintenance of instrumented electrical power systems equips us with a deep understanding of our clients objectives assisting them in realising the full potential of their products.

We support our clients from feasibility studies to decommissioning guaranteeing functional safety at every stage and scale of their projects.

As part of a successful and growing control and instrumentation department you will have experience of managing medium-size projects or managing packages on large projects. Youll oversee and develop an enthusiastic and committed team of Engineers and Technicians to deliver high quality output on projects and support the Associates in day-to-day management of the local Electrical team.


Your organisational and communication skills will help you interact with internal and external contacts to deliver projects within time quality and budget constraints. Youll also work to play an integral role in driving quality in delivery and developing the team as a whole.

The role may involve occasional site visits and potential travel throughout the UK to various project locations.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Significant experience in EC&I design and overseeing the delivery of the full project lifecycle
  • Experience operating in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries
  • Knowledge of hazardous area equipment selection and installation design requirements
  • HNC minimum with suitable experience
  • Actively working towards a professional registration (CEng/IEng)

Preferable:

  • Degree-qualified in Control and Instrument Engineering
  • Understanding pharmaceutical clean room equipment selection and installation design requirements
  • Knowledge of safety-related calculations and providing input to safety reviews - HAZOP LOPA and SIL assessments.
