The role

As a Technical Training Instructor youll have a role thats out of the ordinary. Youll deliver engaging technical training of Satellite communications sytems for both internal teams and external customers helping to shape the next generation of defence professionals. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference - enhancing national security while advancing your own career in a dynamic and rewarding environment.

Day-to-day youll develop and deliver high-quality training courses for new equipment and services. Additionally you will:

  • Conduct routine maintenance on training equipment
  • provide intial identification and rectification of defects
  • Conduct training needs analysis to identify practical cost-effective solutions
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to gather technical insights
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the Training Manager to assess training implications
  • Manage key and crypto material accounts in line with security protocols

This role is full time 37 hours per week and is based on site at HMS Collingwood.

Essential experience of the Technical Training Instructor

  • Communicating effectively across teams and stakeholders
  • Working proactively and flexibly within a small focused team
  • Understanding of data communications or engineering - desirable
  • Experience working alongside UK military customers - desirable
  • Royal Navy or RFA communication or electrical engineering background - desirable

Qualifications for the Technical Training Instructor

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering Electrical / Electronics discipline
  • Experience in Telecommunications and/or Satellite Communications and / or CIS (Communications and Information Systems)
  • Experience of installation test and repair activities
  • Experience of operating cryptographic activities
  • Manual Handling this role requires regular light to moderate lifting

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
