PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We have a fantastic opportunity to join the team as Internal Communications Lead supporting the BBCs Content division.
Reporting to the Senior Head of IC&E Content youll work on a range of communications activity with a particular emphasis on business partnering senior stakeholders celebrating our brilliant content and supporting our transformation agenda.
In a typical day you could be working on inspiring internal campaigns activity and events that showcase and celebrate our content supporting change programmes delivering corporate announcements and championing pan-BBC initiatives into the Content division.

BBC Content is responsible for BBCs non-news output across all platforms including iPlayer Sounds on TV and radio and online (including Sport and Childrens and Education output).

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
As IC&E Lead you will
- Report to the Senior Head of IC&E
- Work on a range of communications activity with a particular emphasis on business partnering senior stakeholders celebrating our brilliant content and supporting our transformation agenda.
- Act as the go-to for senior leaders and key teams and advise them on the best way to get their messages across effectively with authentic two-way communications.
- Attend key meetings be close to activities that support our BBC strategy to deliver greater value for all audiences.
- Help make the complex simple and youll keep us improving; trying new approaches and making sure we measure how our comms are being received.
- Have opportunities to work with colleagues across IC&E and beyond to help shape BBC-wide campaigns and strategic initiatives and amplify them within the division.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
- Proven experience in internal communications employee engagement or change communications within a complex organisation.
- Strong storytelling and content creation skills with the ability to translate complex messages into accessible inspiring narratives*
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence and build trust at all levels**
- Experience supporting large-scale change programmes or cultural transformation
- Familiarity with developing and delivering effective communications strategies
JOB DETAILS
JOB BAND: D
CONTRACT TYPE: 2 roles available - 1 x Permanent Full-time and 1 x 12 month fixed term contract full-time. You will be asked to indicate your preference or if you are open to both opportunities.
DEPARTMENT: Internal Communications & Engagement BBC Group Corporate Affairs.
LOCATION: Office base can be any of the main Hubs (i.e. Salford Cardiff Belfast Glasgow Birmingham or London). If based outside of London will require regular travel to London. This is a hybrid role with office working (2 days a week) and home working for the remainder.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: anticipated range 45000 to 55000pa (plus London Weighting 5319pa if London based) depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
