Job Role:Floating Support Worker

Salary: 20188 per year (full-time equivalent 25235)

Hours: 30 hours per week

Contract type: Fixed term contract until 31st March 2026

Location: Somerset East & Somerset mainly Frome & Shepton Mallet

Additional information:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
  • Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota
  • Ability to work within a rostered shift system covering hours between 08:00 AM and 08:00 PM
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required

The Role:

As a Floating Support Worker youll provide vital practical and emotional support to vulnerable adults who are homeless at risk of homelessness or living in insecure housing.

Youll work closely with a small caseload of clients building strong relationships through face-to-face engagement breaking down barriers and helping them access safe stable accommodation. Every day brings new opportunities to make a meaningful difference in someones life.

This dynamic role offers variety flexibility and the chance to be part of a supportive team. Evening and occasional weekend work is required along with participation in an on-call rota but the impact youll make is truly life-changing.

What Youll Be Doing:

  • Conduct needs and risk assessments
  • Keeping client records accurate clear and up to date
  • Maintaining regular contact with a small caseload of clients
  • Advise and assist clients with budgeting
  • Accompany clients to appointments

Since job descriptions cannot be exhaustive the post holder may be required to undertake other duties which are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities

What Were Looking For:

  • Experience working with people who may have complex needs and/or challenging behaviours
  • Valid drivers license and access to own vehicle business insurance will be required for roles involving travel for work
