Business Manager - Operations and PortfoYour role and responsibilities:
The Quality HSE and OPEX Manager is responsible for managing the quality and operational excellence team in support of the execution of the Electrification Solutions projects. The Solutions projects account for >500M of annual revenues and require constant factory and supplier quality monitoring and issue resolution. He/she additionally holds the responsibility to develop and implement Quality and OPEX execution strategy and tactics adhering to organizational objectives business project performance and adapt the business operational processes and process behavior to assure sustained customer positive experience while driving quality as its output.
This role is pivotal for the organization in driving project quality and operational excellence to success while supporting project management and business management in de-risking current and future incoming business.
This is a hybrid position in Houston TX.
This role is contributing to the Electrification Division in the United States.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Lead Quality HSE and OPEX Initiatives: Champion Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards across operations ensuring compliance from internal teams and external suppliers while driving continuous improvement in quality and operational excellence (OPEX).
- Audit and Compliance Oversight: Manage internal and external audits (e.g. ISO 9000) conduct supplier audits and ensure corrective actions meet ABB standards with documented follow-through.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Quality HSE and delivery; identify and resolve operational gaps through structured action plans.
- Team Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement: Mentor team members using ABB values ensure adequate staffing support risk reviews and maintain effective communication with stakeholders and executives.
Qualifications for the role:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical Distribution business including at least 5 years in management.
- Proven Quality Management skills including creative issue resolution and change management.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to effectively manage a matrix team / organization.
- Knowledgeable in dealing with Engineering Procurement and Construction and their processes.
- Ability to interface and build strong relationships with customers and management at various levels.
- Ability to travel at least 30% as needed

Time off
ABB provides 11 paid holidays. Vacation is provided based on years of service for hourly and non-exempt positions. Salaried exempt positions are provided vacation under a permissive time away policy.
While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicants qualifications and experience this position is expected to pay between $116200 and $215800 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
