Job Description Summary

Will work with radiation oncologists and physicists in performing radiation dosage calculations and angular measurements for radiation entry for patients receiving therapy. Will design 3-D plans calculate doses and maintain records for brachytherapy patients maintain records for and provide weekly quality assurance checks of all patients under treatment. Will provide summaries of all completed patient charts

Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief & Lead Dosimetrist the Dosimetrist Assistant will do the pre-work and post-work around the treatment planning process. Importing CT Simulation scans generating normal tissue contours and post processing of approved treatment plans. This person will utilize knowledge of anatomy physiology radiation therapy techniques physics and technology. The Dosimetrist Assistant will communicate with the Dosimetrist during the treatment planning process and participate in communicating the plan to the Radiation Oncologist Medical Physicist and the Radiation Therapist for implementation.

Education: Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program and actively enrolled in a Medical Dosimetry Program.
Experience: 3 years of experience in Radiation Therapy required.
Certification: Current ARRT certification and licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) is required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
