The Department
Alfred Healths Dietetics and Nutrition Department provides an integrated nutrition and dietetic service at The Alfred Sandringham and Caulfield Hospitals. The joint Nutrition Department is comprised of approximately 48EFT and 70 staff members. It is organised into eight clinical streams and provides a 7-day service. Using evidence-based patient-centred care it provides clinical expertise to Alfred Healths patients during their healthcare journey including the prevention and treatment of malnutrition and the optimisation of nutritional wellbeing and recovery through tailored specialised nutrition therapy.
Position Summary
An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic and motivated Nutrition Assistant (NA) to join Alfred Healths Dietetics and Nutrition Department. Working in conjunction with Dietitians the NA will help to improve patient experience and outcomes by supporting the provision of nutrition to patients families and carers at Alfred Heath. The NA will support various clinical interventions designed to provide timely access to high-quality nutritional care. This role also includes the provision of administration support helping ensure that department tasks are managed in an appropriate timely and efficient manner.
Skills and Qualifications Required
You will be able to demonstrate the Alfred Health values and be passionate about providing high-quality nutritional care. You will have a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or equivalent qualification (including in Nutrition or Health Science). Previous experience working in a healthcare setting and/or Dietetics and Nutrition Department is desirable. You will be organised efficient and proficient in the use of MS Office applications. You will be provided with clinical supervision and opportunities to develop your clinical and leadership will be an integral member of the Dietetics and Nutrition Department with opportunities to engage in relevant quality work and professional development.
